Answering myself, because after days of reading every page of every Omnisphere thread, many attempts, and hundreds of gigabytes of downloaded files, I finally managed to get version 2.8.4 running. In case anyone else encounters the same problems as me, I'll explain my case.

In short: get an initial older installation of Omnisphere from another torrent, then apply the update to the version mentioned in the library you downloaded.

 

I think the main "obscure" information that many may miss is that most Omnisphere torrents are always "updated" and do not include the initial install, or are simply libreks. Libreks like this one link to or mention a version of the software, but that version often requires you to install some non-specific older version of Omnisphere to begin with.

There are updates to apply, but it's not obvious how many are needed, what can be skipped, whether you need to start with an older lib and update your way through or not.

 

며칠 동안 모든 Omnisphere 스레드의 모든 페이지를 읽고 여러 번 시도하고 수백 기가바이트의 파일을 다운로드한 끝에 마침내 2.8.4 버전을 실행할 수 있었기 때문입니다. 다른 분들도 저와 같은 문제를 겪을 경우를 대비해 제 사례를 설명해드리겠습니다. 

 

간단히 말해, 다른 토렌트에서 Omnisphere의 이전 버전을 다운로드한 다음 다운로드한 라이브러리에 언급된 버전에 업데이트를 적용하세요. 많은 분이 놓칠 수 있는 주요 "모호한" 정보는 대부분의 Omnisphere 토렌트가 항상 "업데이트"되고 초기 설치가 포함되어 있지 않거나 단순히 리브렉이라는 점입니다. 

 

이와 같은 리브렉은 소프트웨어 버전을 링크하거나 언급하지만, 해당 버전은 종종 특정하지 않은 이전 버전의 Omnisphere를 먼저 설치해야 합니다. 적용해야 할 업데이트가 있지만, 얼마나 필요한지, 무엇을 건너뛸 수 있는지, 이전 리브로 시작해서 업데이트를 진행해야 하는지 여부는 명확하지 않습니다.

 

My method is not optimal, but it works:

 

1. Downloaded https://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5144160 to get the initial installation of Omnisphere, and installed + installed patches.

2. Downloaded and installed the update from https://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5610508 .

3. Downloaded (without the library, since I no longer had space on the disk) and installed the update from https://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6137368 .

   https://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6137368 에서 업데이트를 다운로드(디스크에 더 이상 공간이 없으므로 라이브러리 없이)하고 설치했습니다.

 

4. Used the 2.5 library as a base and installed updates on it.

   2.5 라이브러리를 기본으로 사용하고 업데이트를 설치했습니다.

 

Using the 2.5 library with the 2.8 patch gave me a STEAM folder that finally works in my DAW without the various "waveform" or "different version" or "corrupted multi" etc. issues.

There may be an easier way, but this one worked.

2.8 패치와 함께 2.5 라이브러리를 사용하면 다양한 "파형" 또는 "다른 버전" 또는 "손상된 멀티" 등의 문제 없이 마침내 DAW에서 작동하는 STEAM 폴더를 얻을 수 있습니다. 

더 쉬운 방법이 있을 수 있지만 이 방법이 효과적이었습니다.

 

The reason so many people have trouble, I believe, is the difference in experience/knowledge between omnisphere veterans and people starting from scratch. What is obvious to some is not obvious to others, even in the instructions, as some parts can be implied or lost in a long wall of text.

These releases are just great, and I've seen many people spend a lot of their time trying to help (sometimes rudely) users, but if this post can help someone, all is well
